Replacing the battery

Last Updated: Mar 16, 2012 03:16PM GMT
The Timesulin cap comes with a built-in battery, which is non-replaceable. Approximately one month prior to the battery running out, the timer screen will start issuing visual alerts that power is running low, indicating that it is time to purchase a replacement.

You are not able to replace the battery built-in to your Timesulin cap yourself.

There are a couple of reasons why we decided to make your Timesulin cap's battery non-replaceable:
  • Adding a compartment with an opening and closing flap would have added bulk, weight and introduced the potential of the battery falling out of your Timesulin cap, causing the timer to fail. That would not have been safe.
  • It would have made the product more expensive - and our goal was to keep costs as low as possible for users.
The most important reason we require you to replace your Timesulin unit after approximately one year of use is:
  • After clicking Timesulin on and off your insulin pens over the course of a year, the plastic inside the cap will have worn away slightly, causing the fit to not be perfect anymore. The last thing we want is for your Timesulin cap to fall off the insulin pen while in your handbag or briefcase.
It's mostly about safety, keeping Timesulin as light and lean and costs as low as possible.
